If your domain already receives email at another provider, we do not take it over by surprise. Your new mailbox waits, your old inbox keeps working, and you decide when to switch.
While it is waiting, the Mailbox page shows Waiting for switch and names the provider your mail goes to today.
The order that keeps everything safe:
Copy your old emails first. Click Copy emails and let it finish. Your old inbox is still receiving at this point, so nothing is missed. This step is optional: skip it if there is nothing you want to keep.
Add your other addresses. If you use more than one address at your domain today (for example info@ or booking@), add each one under Mail Addresses. After the switch, mail sent to an address that is not your mailbox or one of its other addresses is returned to the sender.
Then click Switch mail to Noiseyard. We change your domain's mail records so new messages arrive in your Noiseyard mailbox. The confirmation lists every address that keeps receiving mail.
The page moves to Setting up, then Active once the change has spread across the internet. That usually takes a few minutes.
Please note that:
New mail keeps arriving at your old provider until you click Switch mail to Noiseyard. Nothing changes on its own.
After the switch, messages sent to your address arrive at Noiseyard. Anything already sitting in the old inbox stays there, which is why the copy comes first.
Keep your old email account for a few days after the switch. Mail sent during the change can still land there, and clicking Copy emails once more brings it over (a second copy only adds what is new). Close the old account after that, once new mail is arriving here.
After the switch, add your Noiseyard mailbox to the mail app on your phone and computer, and send your mail from it. Mail you still send from your old account may land in spam, because your domain now names Noiseyard as its mail sender.
If your domain only forwarded its mail (for example with ImprovMX), there is no old mailbox to copy: the mail it passed on is already in the inbox it forwarded to. Skip step 1.
If the switch does not finish, we keep retrying in the background, and you can click Switch mail to Noiseyard again. Your domain is never left without working mail records.
