No. A mailbox belongs to the domain it was made on, so you@oldband.com cannot become you@newband.com. If you are changing domain, delete the mailbox first, then make a new one on the new domain.
This is why the app asks you to delete your mailbox before you connect or register a different domain. It is how email at a domain works: the address is part of the domain.
If you are moving to a new domain:
Save the emails you want to keep first. The easiest way is to add the mailbox to a mail app and drag the messages into another account.
On the Mailbox page, click Remove Mailbox and confirm.
Then click Delete mailbox and confirm. The mailbox and its emails are deleted right away.
Change your domain as usual, from Domain Settings.
Come back to Mailbox and add a new mailbox on the new domain.
Please note that:
You do not have to delete it the same day. After you remove it, it works until the end of the period you paid for, and you can still sign in for 30 days after that. Delete it once you have saved what you need.
Deleting ends the mailbox early. Nothing is refunded for the rest of the period you paid for, and the new mailbox is billed like any new mailbox.
Tell the people who write to you that your address is changing. Sending one short note from the old address before you delete it saves a lot of missed mail.
The emails in the old mailbox do not move to the new one. Only what you save yourself comes with you.
