How to replace the domain name I’m currently using for my Noiseyard website?

To replace the domain name you are currently using for your Noiseyard website:

  1. Go to Control Panel.

  2. Click on “Domain Settings” under Account.

  3. Under Domain Settings, you will see Replace Current Domain Name section. Options to replace your domain will be listed here. You might have two options:

    • Register a new domain name for free (if not already done)

    • Connect an existing domain name

  4. Choose the option you’d like.

To register a new domain name for free:

  1. Enter your desired domain name, including the preferred domain extension. Your options for extension are: .com, .net, .org, .name

  2. Click “Check Availability” button.

  3. If the custom domain you entered is unavailable, a message saying "Domain name is not available" will appear. Please try different options until you find an available domain.

If the domain name is available, you will see a message stating "Domain name is available!"

  4. Make sure there aren’t any typos in your domain name.

  5. Once you are ready, click on “Confirm domain name” button from the top-right of screen.

  6. Confirm your selection by clicking “Confirm domain name” from the modal.

Your domain name will be registered and connected to your Noiseyard website. These changes may take up to 24 hours to take effect, though typically they happen much faster.

If your most recent payment is pending, past due, or unpaid, you'll need to resolve the payment issue before we can register your domain.

Please note that:

  • Once your new domain is registered, we’ll automatically issue an SSL certificate for it. While the installation may take up to 24 hours, it usually happens much faster. Once the certificate is installed, you’ll see "https://" and a padlock icon in the address bar next to your domain name, indicating that sensitive information is secure and private.

  • Your domain will be configured with automatic payment subscriptions, renewing annually provided that your account remains active, and the domain stays connected.

To connect an existing domain name:

  1. Enter the domain name you’d like to connect to your Noiseyard website.

  2. Make sure you entered the right domain name.

  3. Once you are ready, click on “Connect Domain” button.

  4. Confirm your selection by clicking “Connect Domain” button from the modal.

  5. If you entered an incorrect domain name, you’ll get a “Domain name cannot be found.” message. Please make sure you entered the correct domain name. When you enter the correct domain name, you will see a message stating "We found your domain, but there’s more to do".

  6. After receiving the success message, we'll handle the necessary changes on our end to connect your domain. You'll then need to make additional changes to ensure the connection is successful. You will be navigated to a screen with instructions on how to redirect your nameservers. This step is essential for successfully connecting your domain.
