Every newsletter you send now needs a real mailing address in the footer. This is not just a Noiseyard rule, it is the law for email newsletters, and it helps your emails reach the inbox instead of the spam folder.
If you have been sending newsletters for a while, this is a new step. Here is why it matters, and how to make it quick and private.
Why it is required:
Anti-spam laws, like CAN-SPAM in the US and similar rules in other countries, require every newsletter to include a valid physical address or PO Box.
Email providers like Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail look for it. A missing address is one of the things that sends good email straight to spam.
It builds trust. Fans can see there is a real person or a real project behind the email.
You do not have to use your home address. Any real address where you can receive mail works. Many artists use:
A rehearsal space or jam room.
A recording studio they use often.
A management office, a label address, or a PO Box.
To add it:
Go to Newsletter, then Newsletter Settings.
Find the Physical Mailing Address section.
Fill in your street address or PO Box, your city, state and postal code, and your country.
Click Apply. That is it, you can send and schedule again.
Your address shows only in small print at the very bottom of your newsletter, near the unsubscribe link. You can still save drafts without it. You only need it to send or schedule.
Please note that:
You can change your address any time in Newsletter Settings. Your next newsletter uses the updated one.
Newsletters you already scheduled before this change will still go out fine.
