Yes. You can use both, as long as it is the same account, which means the same email address.
There are two ways to end up with both:
You signed up with Google. Add a password from Account Settings, then the Password Settings tab. After that you can sign in with your email and password too.
You signed up with an email and password. Just click Continue with Google using the same email address. It signs you into your existing account, and both methods keep working.
Either way, you do not end up with two separate accounts as long as the email matches.
