The Overview Layout setting changes how many items show per row on wide screens only. On phones and narrow screens, your page keeps its normal layout.
On a wide screen, like a computer, there is room for 2 or 3 cards side by side, so you get to choose. On a narrow screen, like a phone, there is only room for a smaller, simpler layout that stays easy to read and tap. Noiseyard handles that part for you, so your page looks right on every device.
So if you pick 3 items and then open your website on your phone, you will not see 3 in a row. That is expected. Open your website on a computer to see your 2 or 3 item choice.
Please note that:
You do not need to set anything for phones. Your page already uses a mobile-friendly layout there.
